About this FAQ Section

Welcome to the FAQ area of my site. Here you will find useful information on a range of popular questions that are often asked as part of the consultation process.

Each and every wedding is unique, so it won't be possible to answer all your questions in this small FAQ section, but these are a few of the questions I get asked a lot and hopefully covering them here will give you a bit more information.

If you would like to find out more or if you have a specific question that I haven't covered here, I'd be delighted to help.

Just drop me an email through the contact form and I'll get back to you.

Advice & FAQ > Style > What is wedding photojournalism?

Search this section...

Wedding photojournalism is simply a term used to describe a particular style of and approach to wedding photography. In reality it is virtually identical to the documentary wedding photography approach.

Wedding photojournalism emphasises respect for the integrity of the day. This means that rather than dictating how the day unfolds, bossing you around or getting you to 'play' to the camera, a wedding photojournalist takes a much more passive role in the day...

...this means you can relax, carry on with whatever you would naturally be doing and basically ignore the camera totally.

Just like the documentary approach, the underlying principle of wedding photojournalism is always to create authentic photographs that capture real moments and real emotion. Working this way creates a powerful, consistent body of work that is free from gimmicks or fads and will stand the test of time, looking as good in 20 years as it did when it was made.
